Today I will be reviewing one of the better known companies in the supplement industry top proteins, Dymatize Elite Whey Protein Isolate.
Starting with the exterior appearance Dymatize has a very appealing exterior design. It is a very eye-catching design that definitly will make you look twice. It states the important stuff very clearly: that it is a whey protein isolate, the size of the container, the nutrition facts and the flavor. So I am going to give the exterior appearance a 10/10.
Now onto opening the container and checking it out. As always, make sure it’s sealed and I am happy to see that this one is. So I get the tub open and find the scoop, another must. The container is also not oversized for the amount of powder that is inside. So far Dymatize has provided a very good package for there Elite Whey Protein Isolate. I give it a 9/10 for inside container visual.
Now to the mixing, a very important feature of a protein powder. I’m reading the serving size and it says 31 grams, pretty much the standard scoop size. So I go ahead and get a scoop and decide to mix it with 6 ounces of water in my shaker cup. I do the usual shaking of about 10 seconds and see no clumps. After shaking I do the pour test and pour it into a glass. I want to try mixing a scoop with spoon in a glass now. This is the test that most powders fail, we’ll see what happens. So I dump the scoop of powder in with the 6 ounces of water and I start to stir, about 10 seconds. It seemed to blend with no problem. So for the mixing part of the review I give it an 9/10.
Now for the taste test, the part of the review that separates the men from the boys. Taste is a very big concern of mine, if I get a 5lb container of protein powder I want to make sure its something I enjoy drinking. Well the flavor I have today is “Rich Chocolate”. I’ll start by tasting the scoop I used the shaker cup to mix. *BIG Gulp!* It taste good but has a little bit of an artificial sugar taste. The consistency is very smooth and not very thick. There are no clumps or unmixed powder. On to the stirred scoop. The stirred one is also very smooth and no clumps. Well I have to give the taste test a 8/10.
In closing, I have to say that this powder was very impressive. The only issue I had was with the taste but it is not big enough of an issue to keep me away.
Overall score is a 9 out of 10
